The photos posted in the post generally show that the corner of the vehicle's rear window appears to have been damaged by impact. The glass breaking phenomenon is commonly known as the Tesla Model Y RWD produced in China, and there is speculation that it is likely to be a 'self-rupture phenomenon' caused by a cold wave rather than an external shock.
According to industry news, the glass manufacturer used in this model is China's Fuyao, and it is installed in several car brands other than Tesla. However, the glass self-wave phenomenon only occurs in the Model Y RWD model. Therefore, claims are being made that it may be a defect in a specific vehicle model.
It is reported that Tesla Korea is currently investigating the glass breakage. It is expected that action will be taken according to the results of the investigation as soon as they are released.
Meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y RWD is produced at the Gigafactory in China and is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, gaining great popularity with sales exceeding 10,000 units due to its excellent cost-effectiveness.
