“Low emission type 2 certified” Carnival Hybrid finally delivered to customers

“Low emission type 2 certified” Carnival Hybrid finally delivered to customers

The Kia Carnival Hybrid has completed certification and been officially released. The Kia Carnival Hybrid did not receive hybrid tax benefits due to low fuel efficiency, but met the two low-emission standards through emissions certification. Customer delivery begins on the 20th.

The official combined fuel efficiency of the Kia Carnival Hybrid is 14km/L. It was disappointing that it did not receive hybrid tax benefits as it fell slightly short of the domestic mid-sized hybrid fuel efficiency standard of 14.3km/L. However, since it has completed Type 2 low-emission certification, it can receive most of the benefits of an eco-friendly car.

The main benefits of type 2 low-emission vehicles include discounts on public parking lots, exemption from congestion tolls, discounts on parking fees at airport parking lots, exemption from the two-way system for vehicles, and the use of parking spaces exclusively for eco-friendly vehicles. However, when purchasing a vehicle, you cannot receive tax benefits worth 1.43 million won.

The Kia Carnival Hybrid is equipped with a new hybrid system based on a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine. Compared to other 1.6 turbo hybrid systems, it is equipped with a more powerful electric motor, producing a combined maximum output of 245 horsepower and a maximum torque of 37.4 kg.m.

In addition, it is equipped with hybrid electric motor-based driving performance and ride comfort improvement technologies such as E-Ride, E-Handling, and E-EHA, providing a driving experience differentiated from gasoline and diesel models.

It is known that the Carnival Hybrid accounted for more than 90% of all contracts due to its outstanding marketability at the time of pre-contract, despite its price being approximately 4.5 million won higher than that of the 3.8 gasoline. Currently, the Carnival Hybrid is so popular that it takes about a year to ship when contracting.

Meanwhile, the price of the Kia Carnival 1.6 Turbo Hybrid starts at 39.25 million won and is available in 7-seater and 9-seater models.
